VDK Groep acquires Sommen-Gosens in Ulicoten, a total installation company specialising in electrical engineering, heating technology and automation. With this acquisition, VDK Groep from Zwolle strengthens its position as market leader in installation technology in the Netherlands and further expands its presence in the south of the country.
Sommen-Gosens offers a wide range of services for business clients. From industrial electrical engineering and automation to storage systems and energy management. The company also provides solutions for grid congestion, emergency power, heat pumps, distribution systems and building management. Panel assembly, inspections and 24/7 service are also part of the offering.
The organisation employs approximately 30 people, including the three owners, Erwin Sommen, Peter Gosens and Dion Hoogendoorn. The majority of colleagues work within the E and W teams. For larger projects, the company regularly collaborates with external specialists.
Erwin Sommen: "We have experienced strong growth in recent years. At the same time, we felt it was time to take the next step to further specialise and develop our total solutions with an innovative technical focus. In VDK Groep, we have found a powerful partner to help us grow and professionalise. It is important to us that our culture and way of working are preserved. As part of VDK Groep, that is possible. The VDK network offers great opportunities, particularly in the areas of energy and grid congestion. We look forward to taking this next step."
Frans van der Kolk, CEO and founder of VDK Groep: "Our growth strategy is built on a well-considered business plan. We grow fast, but carefully. The acquisition of Sommen-Gosens fits perfectly into that picture once again. We are combining a company that is deeply rooted in the local community with the strength of VDK Groep's knowledge and resources. I warmly welcome Erwin, Peter and Dion, along with their 30 colleagues, to our family of companies."
