As announced in November 2025, the VDK Groep is acquiring the German Builtech Group. The acquisition was approved by the European Commission without further questions, after which the transaction was formally confirmed on Monday, February 16, in Berlin.
Acquisition of Builtech accelerates international growth strategy
The VDK Groep, founded in 2013 by CEO Frans van der Kolk, now consists of more than 150 local companies in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium. The VDK Groep's business model is characterised by strong local companies with nationwide coverage and solid regional leadership. The Group employs approximately 7,500 people and generates annual revenues of over €2 billion.
Both the VDK Groep and Builtech hold a strong position in the technical installation market, driven by key industry trends such as sustainability and addressing the housing shortage. The two companies share the same core principles: local entrepreneurship supported by the Group, strong and long-term customer relationships, a focus on sustainable technologies, and a culture that puts employees first.
The entire Builtech management team will remain on board and will continue its work under the leadership of current CEO Maurice Frhr. von Dalwigk.
Frans van der Kolk, CEO and founder of the VDK Groep: "I am very pleased with the formal approval from the European Commission. The acquisition of Builtech is a milestone in our development. From now on, we will focus on integrating Builtech into the VDK Groep, realising synergies and growing our business across Europe. I warmly welcome our new colleagues in Germany, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland!"
