The Dutch VDK Groep is expanding its German network and acquiring Schorr GmbH, based in Sembach near Kaiserslautern. The company, led by owner Thomas Schorr, has been firmly rooted in the Palatinate region for many years and is one of the well-known addresses for heating, air conditioning and sanitary technology in the region.
Schorr GmbH stands for technical expertise, personal consulting and reliable execution. The team serves commercial, public and private clients and increasingly focuses on energy-efficient systems and future-proof solutions. Proximity to the market and short decision-making processes characterize the company's daily work.
"We wanted to take a step that offers us long-term prospects while preserving what makes Schorr so special," says Thomas Schorr, Managing Director of Schorr GmbH. "Both my wife and I will remain active in the company. For our employees and customers, everything will stay the same, while we gain a partner in the VDK Groep that opens up new strategic and organizational opportunities for us."
The partnership approach is also central to the VDK Groep. "Companies like Schorr form the backbone of the German market," explains Frans van der Kolk, Founder and CEO of the VDK Groep. "Here, entrepreneurship, expertise and regional proximity come together. These are also important factors for us that we look for in companies to sustainably expand our corporate family."
Schorr will continue to operate as an independent company within the VDK Groep in the future. The location, the team and the operational responsibilities remain unchanged. In addition, there is access to know-how, resources and a European network of specialized technology companies.
Michael Übel, Managing Director of VDK in Germany, also sees advantages for the region: "With the acquisition of Schorr GmbH, we are continuing our expansion in Germany and specifically strengthening our presence in the Rhineland-Palatinate region. The company employs highly qualified, entrepreneurially minded employees who fit perfectly with our corporate culture. Together with Managing Director Thomas Schorr, we want to build on the existing success and enable further sustainable growth in the region."
