The innovative photo lockers ensure that drivers are shown a photo of their own truck in time if it is too high to drive through the tunnel. This not only reduces delays, it also makes the work of truck drivers a lot safer. The new systems were designed and installed by VDK company HIG Traffic System.
HIG Traffic Systems offers height detection systems that detect vehicles that are too high at lane level. This allows them to identify the vehicle via license plate recognition, after which the license plate is automatically passed on to a traffic control center. If the vehicle continues to drive, any damages can be recovered thanks to the registered license plate data.
The systems are not only suitable for tunnels, but also for other locations such as inner-city structures, parking garages or industrial estates with cable and pipe routes.
